There are about one hundred different lighting configurations hanging from ceilings today. Our staff has a list of them all. Provided by Excel Energy we can determine the power consumption of your light fixtures. In most commercial spaces you'll likely see the 2'x4' 4 lamp fluorescent lighting. Those fixtures use 172 watts per hour. Since LED is over twice as bright you may only need to bulbs to replace the four. If that's the case you will only use 30 watts per hour. The savings difference is 132 watts
Florida Power and Light provided a calculation page to help you see how much you are spending using fluorescent lighting. We've modified it slightly to save a few steps.
Most retailers are open 12 hours a day at least 350 days a year which is 4,200 hours. If you multiply 4200 hours by 132 watt savings you get 554,400 watt savings annually. Your electric company charges by the kilowatt hour and that is 1/1000 of a watt. Dividing 554,400 by 1000 you get 554.4 kw per year. The cost per kw in Florida is $.11. 554.5 x .11 = $61 a fixture per year. Remember there's no more maintenance because we have a 5 year parts and labor warranty, so there's additional savings. To calculate your total savings you will need to count your fixtures, then multiply that by $61. If you know how much you spend on maintenance add that to your annual savings. The ROI is generally between 12-18 months. What are you waiting for? Start saving now!!!
